MGIT Hyderabad presents

Qiskit Fall Fest is a gathering for curious minds ready to explore the strange, beautiful logic of quantum computing.
01 — The invitation
Qiskit Fall Fest 2026 brings students, builders, researchers, and first-time explorers together at MGIT Hyderabad — organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in collaboration with IBM Quantum.
MGIT is one of roughly 200 institutions selected from about 900 applicants worldwide to host the 2026 edition, and one of only two in Telangana, alongside IIT Hyderabad. This year marks A Decade of Quantum Computing on the Cloud — ten years since IBM opened the world's first cloud-accessible quantum computer.
02 — Follow the signal
12–14 October 2026, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM. A three-day progression: learn from experts → build and run quantum programs → interact with the wider quantum ecosystem.
Insights from experts across industry and academia covering the basics of quantum computing, the quantum landscape, applications, research directions, and career opportunities.
A practical introduction to quantum computing and Qiskit — build and run real quantum circuits and programs.
An open space for students, researchers, faculty, professionals, and enthusiasts to ask questions, exchange ideas, and build connections.
03 — Special guests
Distinguished leaders from the defence, research, and quantum-industry community, joining Qiskit Fall Fest 2026 as our special speakers.

Qiskit Fall Fest turns ten. Here's the flight path that brought quantum computing from a five-qubit experiment to a hands-on festival at MGIT.
The first quantum computer goes live on the cloud — five qubits, open to everyone.
IBM Quantum System One, the first integrated quantum computer, comes online.
The 127-qubit Eagle processor pushes devices toward utility scale.
The first IBM quantum computer is installed at a hospital — Cleveland Clinic.
Japan's first IBM Quantum System Two debuts at RIKEN.

06 — Behind the fest
Faculty and student leadership from MGIT's Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, bringing Qiskit Fall Fest 2026 together.
07 — Get quantum-ready
Day 2 is hands-on. Install Qiskit and the IBM Quantum tools ahead of time so you spend the workshop building circuits, not fighting installs.
Install Python 3.11+ and create a virtual environment.
Install Qiskit and Qiskit IBM Runtime with pip.
Create a free IBM Quantum account and generate an API key.
Run a test circuit locally, or straight from IBM Quantum Composer in the browser.
08 — Go deeper
Official IBM Quantum and Qiskit links worth exploring before the fest — platform access, learning paths, and the story of a decade on the cloud.
09 — Find the field

Hosted on campus at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), Hyderabad. Full travel details will be shared with the final programme.
